Willowdale Regional Park
Leaves (2).jpg
An Environmentally Responsible Playspace

Willowdale was a new suburb development by Stockland to address the need for more housing in the area.

While as many of the existing trees as possible were left, some had to come down. These trees were rescued and now continue to benefit the community in Willowdale Regional Park!

The natural shape of the trees can be recognised in the various play elements around the park, lending their beauty to unique and interesting play equipment.

Timber Creations rescued the timbers and stored them onsite until the landscape was prepared, then used them to create sculptures, play equipment, shelters, seating and gathering areas.

Features:

  Bespoke timber items including;

  • Sculptural leaf maze

  • Leaf themed children’s log play area

  • Cubby cube with rope bridge on stilts

  • Flying fox and hill shelter

  • Timber slalom posts

  • Natural feature log playground

Overall playground designed by Fiona Robbé Landscape Architects

The park was opened in November of 2016, and over 1000 people attended the official opening party! The park is eye-catching, and has been receiving fantastic feedback.
