Students Taking Ownership of Play

For this project the students got to have their say, and create the playground they most wanted!

Timber Creations chose a collection of great elements to suit the space, and provided a selection booklet so the students could vote on their favourites.

We then took the students' choices and designed a great layout so the elements would work together and suit the space. The finished playground is fantastic!

An awkward sloping space transforms into an amazing play area of imaginative, social and physical play opportunities! Room for the active, the quiet, the loud and all children in between to play together in distinctly separate areas that still flow and work together.

Features:

  • Dry creekbed with boat, bridge and water play pump

  • Balance trail with stepping logs, balance beams, rope crossing and hollow log feature

  • Storytelling area with log seating for a whole class and a big throne storytelling chair

  • Friendly play snake sculpture

  • Open teepee cubby

  • Cafe area with mud-kitchen and shop front
