Bringing the Outdoors In (and up)

The Goodstart Early Learning Centre playspace was designed to cater for imaginative and natural play for children up to 5 years - several floors up!

As the centre is inside a multi-storey building in the middle of the city, bringing the outdoors in was a major goal of the design. As such, this playspace has a focus on natural materials, organic shapes and native plants.

Tree sculptures and natural log planters are great visual and tactile features, while the playground logs and steppers provide fantastic opportunities with uneven surfaces for safe balancing and motor skill development.

Features:

  Bespoke timber items including;

  •  planter boxes

  • hollow trunk planters

  • skateboard seats

  • Stick cubby tee pee

  • playground logs

  • sandpit tree trunk stump table

  • tree and branch sculptures

  • timber bridge

Overall playground designed by Fiona Robbé Landscape Architects

The centre was officially opened in December 2015 by then Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and State Attorney-General Gabrielle Upton.
